The Innovation Commission for Climate Change, Food Security, and Agriculture joined a Knowledge Café event organized by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) on October 14, 2025 during the World Bank Group Annual Meetings.

The event, “Innovative Financing for Farmers,” highlighted evidence-based financial innovations that can increase resilience and productivity for smallholder farmers and vulnerable communities, helping create jobs and boost food security.

Professor Michael Kremer, Chair of the Innovation Commission, joined a panel discussion with Prassana Rao, the co-founder and CEO of Arya.ag, and Anup Jagwani, the Senior Global Sector Manager for Agribusiness and Forestry at the IFC. Professor Kremer discussed several financial innovations identified by the Commission including asset-collateralized loans (ACLs), innovations in insurance, and behavioral savings innovations.
