The Innovation Commission for Climate Change, Food Security, and Agriculture participated in the Chicago Booth Conference on Finance and Development, held by the Fama-Miller Center for Research in Finance on September 26-27, 2025.

Professor Michael Kremer, Chair of the Innovation Commission, joined a keynote panel discussion titled “The Future of Financing Development” alongside Marianne Bertrand (Chris P. Dialynas Distinguished Service Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business), Dean Karlan (Frederic Esser Nemmers Distinguished Professor of Economics and Finance at Northwestern University), and Alfonso García Mora (International Finance Corporation’s Vice President for Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean). Professor Kremer highlighted several financial innovations identified by the Commission and discussed institutions for innovation.
